    Best practices for label design

    If you’re not yet at the stage to put in your order, here’s what you can do so you’re 100% ready to get started.

    Shape and size – ensure measurements are accurate and tailored specifically to your output.

    Material – this should be carefully considered based on the shape of your product and the conditions your label will go through in the supply chain. But it’s also an important marketing consideration in terms of how you want your goods to appear. Pick a material that suits your needs, and if you’re unsure, we’re here to help.

    Your labels need to stand out, and we have the tools to deliver that on our end. If you want the best possible, 1440 DPI high-definition quality (or ask us and we will help you with this), make sure you send your design in a high-quality file format such as .EPS. Then have a look at our bleed and safe area guidelines for instruction on how to get your design set up correctly for printing.

    We recommend the following guidelines if you’re uploading your own designs:

    • Files: Flattened PDF or JPEG (recommended) or EPS, AI, PSD
    • Resolution: 300dpi
    • Bleed: 3mm
    • Safe Area: 3mm
    • Colour: CMYK
